Taking a look back at 2012, it's been a pretty big year for 'Murica and the rest of the world. Just to recap a few things, we saw athletic greatness in the Olympics, made our voices heard in the presidential election, challenged human limits with the Red Bull Stratos… and saw the extreme misuse of the hashtag; #sooverit, #hashtagcasserole, #cheesy…
As many locals of the Tri-Cities know, the Blue Plum festival is coming up this weekend. This Johnson City jubilee that started out as a block party has been bringing folks together for over a decade with this year being the 13th annual celebration of arts, music, and local crafts. There are tons of things going on like a 5k, a rugby tournament, corn hole, and the Urban Art Throwdown. However, here at TriCitiesNights.com, we are more concerned with what happens after the sun goes down. For myself, I am mostly concerned that I can walk down the street with a beer in my hand…just sayin’. My tips and top picks for the weekend:
For as long as I can remember, or since I've been of legal drinking age, St. Patrick's Day has been one of my favorite holidays. Not only do I get to wear my favorite color, but I also get to speak in a horrible Irish accent and drink my way into oblivion until I see wee little Irish men with gold and double rainbows. This year I have taken it upon myself to brush up on some Irish fun facts and history of this beloved alcoholiday so I can give you some tips on the proper way to celebrate.
New Year’s Eve is a time to think about the year behind you and get ready for the year ahead. It's a time of inward reflection pondering on life's accomplishments and looking forward to goals that are still yet to be achieved. If you're like me, all that thinking hurts your wee little brain. So instead of writing down goals for 2012 or coming up with another New Year's resolution that you probably won't keep, why not go out and celebrate the fact that you are young, wild, and free! And even if you're not that young… or wild… and you're married with children, raise that champagne glass or solo cup and get ready for the last year on earth!
Josh from TriCitiesNights here. I've hijacked Nena's Tip Jar for this post. We're going to bring some attention to how people sometimes act when ordering a drink and give you some tips for getting that drink quicker and creating a good relationship with the bartender.
